Who would've thought that PSU would be sitting at #3 in the initial BCS Standings at the start of the season? Anyone, anyone? Me neither. The Spread HD offense that PSU has implemented has been unimpressive in my opinion. Why? Well, let's look at the competition PSU has faced in getting to this point:

Costal Carolina
Oregon State
Syracuse
Temple
Illinois
Purdue
Wisconsin
Michigan

As you can see, the opponents listed above are terrible. Illinois and Wisconsin have been in a funk for the last few weeks. I still don't see how the pollsters could have jumped PSU from 24th to 3rd in 8 weeks with that horrific schedule. In my eyes, they haven't been tested. They will go to a place this coming Saturday night that will be covered in a sea of Scarlet. PSU has not won in Columbus since 1978. They are 0-7 in Columbus as a member of the Big Ten Conference.

The game plan is simple: Give Beanie Wells the ball 20-25 times. The forecast calls for a 40% chance of rain with temperatures in the lower 40's @ kickoff. The defense has been solid as of late and the offense finally found the end zone on numerous occasions in East Lansing last week. Brent Musberger and Kirk Herbstreit will call the game live on ABC @7PM.

If you are lucky enough to have tickets to this game, don't forget about all of the pregame festivities that will take place on Friday and Saturday. Friday Night Tailgate will be in Columbus live on the Big Ten Network. Every week, they go to a Big Ten city to take a tour of the university, its culture, the local hotspots and most importantly, the food. Hopefully, they will name Tommy's Pizza as the best place to go eat. It's the best pizza that I've ever had. Period!!

Last but not least, ESPN will be there for another installment of College Gameday with Chris Fowler, Lee Corso and Herbie. Although with the Breeders Cup taking place on the same day, Rece Davis might fill in for Fowler. Nonetheless, it is a circus atmosphere when the Gameday bus comes to your city (ok, a shameless plug from Big and Rich's Gameday theme song). It's also Homecoming 2008, so there will be plenty of activities as well for Homecoming. If you go, have a great time.

Prediction: OSU 31  PSU 14. I'll believe it when I see it that the Spread HD can defeat a quality opponent.

GO BUCKS!!! BEAT PSU!!!
