As an OSU fan who absolutely loathes PSU, I have to give them credit for playing a great game surrounded by a hostile crowd. It was a shame that a record crowd of 105,711 had to leave with a loss. The same defense, which allowed TSUN to run for more than 200+ yards, contained Beanie Wells to 55 yards on 23 carries. You mean to tell me that our Offensive Line is worse than TSUN's? Evidently so. Bryant Browning was very slow off the ball to contain his opponent. PSU's front seven was very impressive in not giving up a huge run up the middle or from side to side for that matter. I will be glad when Mike Adams and J.B. Shuggarts come back next year. At least they have some athleticism and can actually block on a consistent basis. Alex Boone doesn't deserve to be wearing #75. That's a # that needs to be retired with the few #'s that are already hanging from the stadium. Orlando Pace wore that # with pride and ATHLETICISM!!!

I can't fault TP too much on that 3rd and 1 play in the 4th quarter. Although the play was designed as a sneak up the middle, TP saw a seam to his right and if he could get by the Defensive End on the play, it was nothing but daylight. But, he was stripped of the ball and you know the rest. The "Kid" will have better days ahead. Everyone is entitled to a mistake (or two). I bet he still thinks about Jake Ballard being wide open afterwards when he threw that desperation pass into the endzone.

So what lies ahead for OSU? Do they root for PSU to at least get to #2 in the final BCS standings on 12/7 and play for the BCS Championship in Miami? If that happens, does the Rose Bowl then want to preserve the Big Ten- Pac 10 matchup and have a rematch between OSU and USC (provided they're not #1 or #2 in the final BCS poll)? In my opinion, I would rather see them play in the Capital One Bowl in Orlando on 1/1/09 against an SEC opponent. OSU needs to defeat an SEC opponent right now to gain some respect from all of the naysayers out there. Since we have to play USC in Columbus in 2009, it doesn't do us any good to play USC again out in Pasadena and get embarrassed again to start off the new year.

So what's a Buckeye fan to do this weekend with no OSU game to watch? You could perhaps clean your house, sleep in or even go watch Junior's soccer game. All of that seems fine and dandy, but, I will be watching football all day and night and hoping that the Texas-Texas Tech game is as good as advertised. I might even watch the Georgia-Florida game for good measure.

Well, that's it for now. I'll be back here blogging in a few weeks as we get ready for _ichigan Week. There will be a surprise blog that you folks will like. Enjoy the bye week. It's now a 3 game season for OSU to bounce back and finish strong.
